I have heard so many things about N’orlins (New Orleans). One thing that I MUST stress is that the food is AMAZING! Some of my favorites? Chef Ron’s Gumbo Stop and New Orleans Creole Cookery if you’re in the French Quarter. Chef Ron’s Gumbo does not disappoint, however you MUST try the Jackson chicken. It’s incredible! The thing to get at the New Orleans Creole Cookery is the Redfish coated in pecans. And then make sure to finish it up with some Banana Foster Bread Pudding. I’m drooling just sitting here thinking about them.
Be prepared for the phrase “So good, you’ll slap yo’ mama!” I heard this phrase and was a little taken aback. Essentially, they guarantee their recipes are better than your mom’s. So when she said she made the best, she was lying to you!
Also make sure to try some beignets while you’re in the area. I like to get some and then take a walk down by the river.
